Following the motto ‘it doesn’t always have to be a bowl’, have you ever made a spoon out of clay?

It is perfect for using up leftover clay. It does take some thinking to figure out how best to glaze your spoon. You can’t glaze it all over, because then it will stick to the kiln. But with a bit of creativity, you can get beautiful results and play around with glazes and patterns to your heart’s content.

In an ideal world, you add a tasty snack to them after the firing – like these cauliflower drumsticks, for instance – but unfortunately I am not a great cook.
