You’ll probably remember from your childhood: blowing soapsuds through a plastic wand with sticky hands and watching them float with the wind. The jar always spilled everywhere too.
This technique is pretty simple, but it does require some experimenting. You add a few drops of washing up liquid to your glaze, and then blow bubbels into the container of glaze until the bubbles rise to the top. You transfer the bubbles to the area of your work that you want to glaze, and repeat until you are satisfied.
The texture of the soapy bubbles leaves an interesting circular pattern on the surface of your piece. This technique works best with dark, contrasting colours. If you like, you can add a layer of transparent glaze on top.
