Masking with tape

Want to create clean lines? What you need is (masking) tape. It helps you create perfectly straight colour blocks, even if you don’t have a steady hand.

Forever learning.

Mask the areas of the piece that you don’t want to glaze with the tape, making sure to press the edges of the tape firmly. Wait for the glaze to dry before removing the tape. Fire the pot and let it cool.

Next, mask the parts that have already been glazed, and apply the second colour of glaze. Fire the pot again, and repeat these steps until every area of the pot is glazed. The end result? Lines so sharp you could cut yourself!
