Paper porcelain

Paper porcelain is a special form of porcelain. It is porcelain clay to which paper fibers have been added.

Forever learning.

It is available ready-made in ceramic stores, but you can also make it yourself.

Adding paper fibers makes the porcelain stronger, so you can roll it out thinner. The paper fibers burn away in the oven, which makes the walls extra transparent. So it’s ideal for translucent pieces.

The paper fibers also reduce the risk of cracking and tearing. The porcelain is easier to work and assemble, and is lighter.

An alternative to paper porcelain is flax porcelain. There, instead of paper fibers, flax fibers are added to the porcelain clay, giving the same properties.
