What to ask before you book a firing
Not every kiln is the same. Always check:
- What type of kiln is it? (electric, gas, wood, raku…)
- What temperature does it fire to?
- What are the kiln’s dimensions? (important for larger pieces)
- Is the price calculated per kilogram or per full kiln load?
- What does a firing cost, or what’s the rate for renting the kiln?
That way you avoid surprises and know exactly what to expect.
