The grater

Here’s a fun project you can sink your teeth into: a grater for ginger and garlic

Forever learning.

If you grate garlic or ginger with a standard, metal grater, you’re in for a whole lot of mess. The garlic or ginger will stubbornly stick to the grater, and all too often your fingers get grated as well. A fun alternative is a grater in the shape of a little dish. And the good news is that it’s very easy to make.

Start by making a small dish (either by throwing or handbuilding), and make sure it’s thick enough. Then create the texture you need in the middle of the dish. There are many tools you can use for that: a pencil, a piece of wire, a sharp tool. It’s up to you!
