Fired-on images

This technique allows you to apply detailed drawings, images or text to your ceramics with a laser print.

To get started with this technique, you need fired-on transfer paper and an HP or Canon laser printer. The toners from these printers contain iron oxide, which bakes out in the oven to sepia brown.

That way, you can apply photos to your clay, for example. Combined with other graphic techniques, you can give free rein to your creativity. The results can be stunning, and the technique allows you to highly personalize your work.
