Crawl glaze

Add a new dimension to your glazing.

Forever learning.

What an abundance of choice … When trying to pick a glaze there are so many colours and finishes to choose from. Time to kick it up a notch! With a crawl glaze, you can add a third dimension: texture.

It’s an effect you might have achieved by accident at some point: if your glaze shrinks too much during firing, it pulls away from the clay. This creates little islands of glaze with exposed areas in between where the underlying clay is visible. And there are many options you can explore: from organic patterns to a type of pearlescent effect. Definitely worth trying out!
