Stoneware

Stoneware is a strong type of clay that is also quite easy to work with. It holds its shape well and is very sturdy and non-porous after firing. This type of clay is most often used to make large volumes of, for example, tableware, and it is the most recommended type of clay for beginners. Stoneware is fired between 1200 °C and 1300 °C.
