Acid

A chemical substance added to clay or glaze to achieve certain effects. In ceramics, an acid, such as acetic acid (vinegar), can be used to etch clay or to achieve specific glaze effects. It can alter the surface of the clay or glaze, contributing to the final look and texture of the piece.
