Low fire

Firing ceramic pieces at relatively low temperatures, usually between 600 °C and 1,100 °C (around 1,100 °F to 2,000 °F). At these temperatures the clay doesn’t fully vitrify, resulting in a more porous, softer end product. This is common with earthenware and low-fire clay bodies.
